Physical Test Details -
The SSC (Staff Selection Commission) conducts recruitment exams for various posts, including the Sub Inspector (SI) in various police forces across India. The syllabus for SSC Police SI exam typically covers four major sections:
1. General Intelligence & Reasoning: This section evaluates the candidate's logical and analytical abilities. It may include topics like analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetic reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning, etc.
2. General Knowledge and General Awareness: This section assesses the candidate's knowledge about current events and matters of everyday observations. It may include questions on Indian History, Indian Polity, Indian Constitution, Geography, Economic Scene, Current Events, Sports, Culture, General Polity, Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research, etc.
3. Quantitative Aptitude: This section tests the candidate's ability to solve mathematical problems. It typically covers topics like whole numbers, decimals, fractions, relationships between numbers, percentage, ratio & proportion, square roots, averages, interest, profit, and loss, discount, partnership business, mixture and allegation, time and distance, time & work, basic algebraic identities of School Algebra & Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and its various kinds of centers, congruence and similarity of triangles, circles, and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, etc.
4. English Comprehension: This section assesses the candidate's understanding of the English language. It may include questions on topics like spotting errors, fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, spelling/detecting misspelled words, idioms & phrases, one-word substitution, improvement of sentences, active/passive voice of verbs, conversion into direct/indirect narration, shuffling of sentence parts, shuffling of sentences in a passage, cloze passage, comprehension passage, etc.
Additionally, there may be a Physical Endurance Test (PET) and Medical Examination as part of the selection process, but these are not part of the written exam syllabus.
